I’m ready to get started. How do I register for private tutoring?

The first step is to sign our parent agreement, which covers our policies and procedures, and set up your account with contact and billing information. There is no registration fee.

How do you handle payment?

Once your account is set up, our office will bill your credit card on file at the end of each month.

Can I reschedule or cancel sessions without charge?

Yes — you can cancel or reschedule any 1:1 session through your Teachworks account for your convenience. For all cancellations or changes in less than 48 hours, we will bill as originally scheduled in full as we pay all instructors for cancellations within that time.

Why do you pay instructors when a session has been canceled?

Our goal is to retain the best instructors over the long-term to provide consistency for our students. Last-minute cancellations are one of the top reasons for instructor turnaround; our policy is designed to provide a long-term learning experience for our students, often over many years.

What if it’s an emergency?

We understand that things come up, and we always do our best to evaluate on a case-by-case basis. We do, however, reserve the right to take students off our schedule with 3+ absences, explained or not, so we can offer the spot to another student.

 

Group Classes

Are there any refunds on classes?

As long as you let us know at least three weeks before the start of the class, we can offer a full refund minus a $100 registration fee.

My student has a game during one of the classes? Can we attend a different class for that week only?

Because our classes are so small and personalized, we do not allow students to attend other classes as a makeup. We will, however, share all materials with students who miss class, in addition to any worksheets and homework assignments; it’s very typical to miss a class or two over a semester. For remote classes, students will also have access to the Bitpaper link so they can see everything that was covered. Please note that we do not offer private tutoring sessions to make up for a class unless otherwise scheduled and billed.

 

Appointments

To schedule a meeting with your student’s instructor, please notify us at least 48 hours in advance at info@principiatutors.com and we will allot the first or last 10 minutes of the next session to meet.
